Manager Marketing

  • We are looking to hire someone to work in either our Columbus, Ohio or Chester, Virgina office with a hybrid schedule (2-3 days/week in office)

  • We are looking to hire a dynamic people leader who will oversee a dispersed team of professionals. This fast-paced role will work with vendors, manage multiple projects and focus on optimization with data analytics.

Job Summary
Manages marketing communications center of excellence and drives strategy for brand communications and marketing, digital and social media, photography, videography, marketing campaign planning, graphic design, social media and messaging. Manages NiSource Foundation and Employee Volunteer initiatives across the organization and creates efficiency and alignment to identify priorities for effective use of resources. Supports customer communications strategy and ensure engagement and commitment.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the marketing communications center of excellence, which is the companys center for brand communications and marketing, digital and social media, photography and videography

  • Manages the marketing, design and packaging of campaign planning and measurement, brand management and alignment strategy.

  • Manage all graphic design, photography / videography, website design and messaging.

  • Manage data and analytics supporting technology vendors to ensure return on investment and best use of tools.

  • Manages Foundation and Employee Volunteer programs for all states and ensures alignment of strategic budget decisions.

  • Executes Strategy from Customer Experience Team.

  • Develops and coordinates NiSource-level strategies for advancing shared media, reputation and issues management across companies.

  • Identifies and leads adoption of best practices across communications function, including in communications channel governance.

  • Proactively identifies and explores future trends; keeps current with latest technologies, research and trends in communicating with various media and other internal constituencies.

  • Cultivates business relationships with other utilities and industries to identify and adapt best practices.

  • Develops business cases; defining and articulating business requirements and benefits for programs.

  • Establishes metrics to measure effectiveness of assigned communication initiatives and success for overall function; uses data to drive strategy and decision making.

  • Ensures legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Develops and maintains a culture of safety and inclusion and diversity; fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Manages budget; identifies opportunities to maximize spend and enhance brand recognition.

  • Drives internal education of and engagement in understanding of company brand and purpose.

  • Develops strategy and leads production of key reports, including management of charitable foundation.

  • Leads multi-media and marketing campaign vendor strategy, including identification, oversight, selection and optimization of use for efficiency and alignment.

Required Qualifications For Position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism, English/Writing

  • 8+ years of experience managing multi-media marketing communications, leading foundation and employee volunteer efforts, driving customer and branding campaign communications

  • Utilities industry experience a must

  • 4-6 years Experience managing a team of communication professionals for a minimum of 3+ years

  • Strong knowledge of multi-media communication principles, technology and media relations.

  • Strong communication skills, including presentation, verbal and written.

  • Strong knowledge of communication principles.

  • Excellent knowledge of philanthropy, foundation and employee volunteer programming and initiatives that support corporate culture and business strategy.

  • Excellent knowledge of utilities industry, state and local community initiatives.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Excellent multi-media skills and understanding of how to utilize technology for all online channels.

  • Ability to translate business needs into action.

  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidence.

  • Ability to be comfortable working in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and a fair measure of ambiguity.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships to advance business goals.

  • Have superior interpersonal skills across all levels of the internal organization.

  • Ability to manage a dispersed team.

  • Ability to influence and hold peers accountable.

  • Ability to be comfortable working in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and a fair measure of ambiguity.

  • Ability to simplify concepts and tailor messages for specific audiences.

  • Extensive social media experience understanding impacts of technology and applying best case use scenarios

Salary Range*:

$110,200.00 - $165,300.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidates skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience , as well as internal pay equity .
